Leaving Home EP with Kelly Lethbridge and Jimmy Owen

Last December saw my first trip to Hackney Road Studios whose empresario is pedal steel player Steve Honest.

Kelly and Jimmy were recording a country-rock EP called Leaving Home. The title track ‘Leaving Home’ is  laid-back, country-rock and Two Steps Forward is more on the rock end of the spectrum.

Steve suggested I put my pedal steel (I was using my Marlen S10) through his Fender Bassman combo.

The tracks came out great, the pedal steel is quite low in the mix but its ability to cut through helps it play a useful part in the end product.
