I am very excited to have purchased a new lap steel on ebay. 1938 Rickenbacker Model 59.

Fingers crossed the pickup is original, if it is it will sound like a beast..

I saw Larkin Poe this weekend at Maverick Festival and Megan the slide player was playing a variation of this model. Sounded brilliant..
